Absolutely! But companies need to create the right environment for that passion to be developed. The head of the company needs to make it very clear that everything the company does is for the customer and then he/she needs to live it out; leading by example.

In a previous post I wrote about the pillars of any good CX program (http://cxpert.com.au/customer-experience-the-tablestakes/). To light the fire in people I recommend having these in place. All employees need to understand the vision, have direct access to customer feedback, have the tools and supporting systems they need to provide excellent customer service and are empowered to do their jobs.

At the end of the day, people WANT to provide great service. Lead the way and make it easy for them to do so.

Ben - what a great story - thank you. I love the way you describe people who are passionate about customer experience. Do you think it is possibly to cultivate and develop that passion for people who aren't "born" with it?
